Closing of the training workshop for African roasters and baristas

The training of coffee roasters and baristas organized in Gabon has just been closed. It ended on September 11, 2021 in Libreville.

This training brought together 27 young people (including 8 women) from Togo, DRC, Côte d’Ivoire, Guinea and Gabon.

The opportunity was for some, already in activity, to deepen their theoretical and practical knowledge of their professions..

After 12 days of theoretical and practical training, participants return to their country of origin with better notions on selection, roasting, sensory analysis and coffee preparation.

This initiative of the International Coffee Organization (IACO) is supported by the Robusta and Madagascar Coffee Agency (ACRAM) and its partner ITC, through the ACP/EU Programme.

The closing ceremony presided over by the representative of the Gabonese Government was sanctioned by the presentation of the certificate in the presence of the Representative of the Delegation of the European Union to Gabon, members of the diplomatic corps and other partners.

This training workshop, which is a component of the Promotion of Domestic Coffee Consumption in Africa Project, aims to raise the level of coffee sector players in the African market to ensure the sustainability of the sector and improve the living conditions of producers.
